OCTOBER 04- I am in America. I was in Spain. There has been one review in a local and free Brighton magazine, Source magazine. A few weeks ago, I had the thought to end the updates on this sight because I have moved on from the place I was at when flowers & trees was released, both materially and spiritually. However this review just reminds me that the album will fade in its own time, and that it's not all about ME. There are still people out there who will hear it today and to them it will sound just as fresh and be just as loveable as it was to those before. The comments below from real people are the ones I treasure the most, and the ones you should go by when deciding if you want to buy this album.
In the meantime, rest assured that Yoshi is alive and well, playing his guitar every morning and forming new ideas and concepts for your future ears. Peace and love, Y.

SEPTEMBER 10- Before I leave for my break, I wanted to give you a glimpse of an interview which I neglected to put up right at the start of the publicity for 'Flowers & Trees'. It was a freelance interview done somewhere in late April 2005, just before the album was released. Hope you find something useful in it. Peace, Y.
SEPTEMBER 09- I am going away for a break. All those who order 'Flowers & Trees' between the 11th and the 22nd will have to wait until the 22nd for their copies to be despatched. Sorry about this guys, but it's the nature of the business if you're managing your own affairs in life and can only rely on yourself, that's the way it's gotta be, should be! Peace to u all, Yoshi.

AUGUST 17- I have respect for very few of the art galleries in Brighton, because most of them are businesses with absolutely nothing unique or risky to show (unless anyone out there still thinks a pop-art style canvas of David Beckham or Robert Deniro is 'ironic'.. or even mildly amusing... sadly a lot of people do) but you know, one gallery which I give it up to, and always make a point of going in to check- is the Permanent Gallery. It's just down on Bedford place (next door to the old 'Taj Mahal' grocery store) and it's worth you checking out, go in there and ask questions about what you see, it's fun. It's even more worth checking-out now because their independant bookshop is stocking... yes you guessed it, 'Flowers & Trees'! Anyway, go on down and check out the place, it's cool because I don't always like what I see there (surely a good sign for me and for them) but I reccommend it because it takes a few risks and at least has a different voice- that counts for a lot thesedays. So, to summarise my ramblings- "Yoshi likes art galleries that aren't run like businesses, and Yoshi's new album is available from this one". Peace all, Y.

JULY 31- NEW ALBUM REVIEW from probably the most respected international music magazine, The Wire.... Check it out in the press section. I saw it whilst I was checking out some magazines yesterday and actually gasped when I saw my name there. I then tapped the shoulder of the lady to my right-hand side, who was reading something else, because I had to tell someone. She couldn't believe it either, although she had just met me. And the man at the checkout recognised me from last time when I bought the other magazine I was reviewed in. I said, "I'm in this one too!" with a smile. And he said "Wow, you're getting around aren't you?" He seemed quite happy for me. Nice guy. Anyway, I thought I'd let you know just so you don't think I'm some slick-I-don't-care-kinda dude. I do care. I always feel so happy when 1- someone likes my music, 2- when they can actually HELP spread it by writing or telling people.... and this one review has already had a huge impact on my sales so much in just 1 day, so to all those who haven't heard it yet, get busy! Peace, Y....
OH YEAH, ANOTHER LIVE DATE has been confirmed... YES! I am performing at The Engine Rooms, Brighton, bottom of Preston St. (the restaurant street!) Wednesday 3rd August I don't know how much entry is, but my man David will be there for his guest spot on the title track. . and ...
LIVE AGAIN... Yoshi's got his name all over the flyer, it's another paying gig unfortunately (you know if it was up to me I'd never charge you a damn thing to get in!) This one's in The Enigma club in Brighton, Ship St. on the Friday 5th August... Be there or be not, £5.00 entry, but if you're nefisa-family, try to contact me before-hand and I'll see what I can do to get some kind of discount.

JULY 29- First of all, a friend tells me that he is 100% positive that he heard the title track 'Flowers & Trees' being played on radio recently... so my question to anyone out there is... did you play it, did you hear it? Yoshi would love to know! Thank you kindly! Also, if you're in the region of good old Essex, a DJ known as James, playing at this club on Thursday night, will be spinning my track 'When U See The Future' ... so ! There you go! And the title track of my LP was also played @ The Engine Rooms club in Brighton two weeks back (forgot to tell you about that one though!)
~
JULY 16- "Tomorrow, I say tomorrow..." Yoshi live @ The Volks Tavern in Brighton. Sunday 17th July ... it's an all-day hip-hop event, from 4pm til 2am... I'm on at 10:30 in the nitetime.... And it's ... £5.00 entry! hey, I don't make the rules! Come and see me! Peace, Y.

JULY 12- Videos! I am currently in fairly advanced talks with an artist about a video for one of the songs on my album. We've been discussing concepts and ideas for a week or so and it's going ahead as we speak. I'll let you know more on that in the future, needless to say it's a blessing to be working with a cool guy, because as I told him, all of my songs are poems, are films, or books. They're often books and poems or films before they are songs. Meaning, I see them not as music, but musical representations of what a book might be like, or a film. So therefore I'm not an easy guy to work with because I have very specific ideas for the visuals too. But you know a true collaboration is about honestly trying to see the other guys angle- and this artist (whose name I'll give u once the video is out) clearly knows a hell of a lot more than I do about collaboration, because he's been open to all my thoughts as well as his own mad ideas. I hope you'll get to see it soon. You know I'll let you know!
In the meantime, I have been trying to upload some more footage of the most recent shows I did in London and Brighton, but couldn't get that done yesterday, so what I've done is add another video of the same show I did a week or so ago... this one is of the finale to my current set, which is a freestyle over the Beatles song "Drive my car" ... Well I wrote it on that same day (hence the paper I hold in the video!) but with every venue I play at I change the lyrics to keep it fresh, but anyway- it's only 30 seconds, and the very best part (where I SCREEAAAAAM) got cut off right at the end, which is a shame, but hey who cares? Life. Enjoy. Peace. Y. (video)

JUNE 24- Brightonhiphop.com has added 'Flowers & Trees' to it's new releases section, check here.
Virgin Megastore in Brighton's Churchill Sq. Shopping Center now has 'Flowers & Trees' on it's listening post. Just go upstairs, by the wall (near the books) and check it out, take a listen!
Finally, I attended the opening day of Sensation Magazine (a new online magazine.. which isn't 'online' yet ;) ) on Wednesday at the Gardner Arts Center. I had just been informed a few hours earlier that the magazine was running a feature on Flowers & Trees. It was quite hi-tech because the website was being displayed in an art gallery on a nice big flat-screen monitor (anyone who knows the Gardner Arts center know it's a pretty cool place) Other people's photography was featured there too (some good some not so great) and there were lots of people dressed in dark evening wear, and nice dresses drinking wine and laughing. I had just cycled over so I was quite hot and scruffy-seeming wearing my shorts and t-shirt so I felt out of place, but in a nice way. And hey- they had nice orange juice, which I mixed with fizzy mineral water (fizzy water is always good fun I think) ... But to see my own album with such kind words written about it, and to hear the audio of the title track, was pretty cool I must say. Peace for today, Y.
JUNE 22- 'Flowers & Trees' has now been accepted into the CD catalogue of the brand new Jubilee Library in Brighton (check their website out here) Human beings who are interested in the album, but for some reason are unable to fork-out a measly £5 for the LP, will now be able to 'borrow' the album from the library for 80 pence a week. Which is ridiculous, but hey I don't make the rules, and I want you to hear it so take advantage! Just make sure you take good care of it now borrowers, no scratches! Needless to say that this offer is for library members only... which I suppose means, technically, that I could borrow my own album. But since my bedroom is slightly flooded with copies of it already I wouldn't see the logic in that! And finally- please bear in mind that this news came in today, however due to the catalogue system and other ish- the LP may not be on the shelves for a days or two yet- so go in the AUDIO/VIDEO section and ask them for "Yoshi" in the next day or two to be absolutely sure... you know the name of the album by now don't u?
ALSO- More live shows to come. More info on both of those shows coming your way soon. Peace, y.
JUNE 09- Last nite's show at the Pavillion Tavern was mystical. I'd never been that energetic onstage before, and the crowd absolutely loved it. It was magic to be in that room. Each show just gets better and better, I hope you enjoyed it if you were there.
I have been reviewed in HIPHOP CONNECTION magazine, which is currently circulating in all good shops around this country. Go to the press section to see the review!
I have also added a new interview with UKHH.com, which should make for an interesting read for some of you who don't know me. Things are moving, hope everyone is on board. Even if you're not, enjoy the weather!
peace,
yosh.

"Hi! Today is the first day of my albums release, May 17th, and I never thought this day would come! So... do you want it already? Hold up one sec there! Before you spend all your £5 / $10, just take a look around this cool mini-site we made! Enjoy it first, then you can buy my album!
'Flowers & Trees' is £5.00, which is cheap. It's cheap because I want you to buy it, own it and have it in your house; that's what matters to me. Right now there are no press reviews (coming soon though, don't you worry!) so to let you know a little about the album, I've added the comments (pasted from e-mail) of two friends who received advance copies of the album. That is to be found in the PRESS section. Also, the press release for the album is just under the track-listing (below) so take a read through that if you want! If you need to hear clips from the songs (and who doesn't?) go to the AUDIO page, if you want to buy it, go to the buy! page! .! If you want anything else, then e-mail me, yoshi@nefisa.co.uk.
Enjoy the album friends. I made it for you. This is what hip-hop can do, music is one iceberg floating across the Atlantic. There are many others we can hop on if we're not too scared.
Y.Misdaq aka Yoshi"
