There's a group of volunteers who make soup for the homeless people of Brighton every night of the year. They've been doing it for a quarter of a century. This short-film looks at their views on homelessness and whether or not providing soup really does anything in the larger scheme of things.

Selected for a special screening at the 2005 Brighton Film Festival.

A poetic depiction of the artist in the midst of creative block. On a train, we travel across North America with the suffering artist in question, listening in to his stream-of-consciousness narration which eases in and out of the film at random intervals. The built-up east coast slowly gives way to the barren, snowy plains of middle-America and the golden fields of the midwest. Along the way we meet ordinary and extraordinary people, make some music and ultimately come to a stop in California where, on a beach, the artist finds a strange sense of peace.

This film features impromptu performances from electronica musician Mikrosopht, composer MichL Bridge, Victrola, Y.Misdaq and others.
